Welcome Home!  You are now a part of our community and
we are so happy to have you and hope you will find comfort
and support from us through your journey.

There are so many things we can and need to tell you but
the most important thing is to be patient with the process,
ask a lot of questions, document who, when you talked to
them and what they said and do not give up.

All to often the road we are traveling can be overwhelming,
discouraging and lonely.  If you do not learn what is
necessary to help your child live a greatest quality of life
you dream for him or her, who will?  I learned many years
ago how important "I was" in my children's lives.  I learned
the true importance of my need to be educated,
knowledgeable and prepared to take charge at every turn.
If you ever learn anything in live with a child with special
needs - you truly are your child's best advocate and you are
the beholder of all information.  Therefore, you are the
doctor, teacher, mentor, administrator and every other hat
necessary to ensure your child receives the services and
supports he or she needs to benefit from their education.

Get involved in a local support group in your area or the
closest one possible.  Talk to other families online on list
serv's (click the link below), learn about the mourning
process we often go through as parents over and over
again depending on the situation.  You may have thought
you have already gone through one stage and something
else has transpired and you are back in the same place.
This is all common.  More importantly, YOU ARE NOT
    ALONE!

As you will discover there is a lot of information on the
Internet available on disabilities.  We have highlighted key
National Autism Resources, including key National
Disability Resource Organizations to get you started.  You
will also find key National Resources we have listed under
Learning Disabilities.  We encourage you to visit all three of
these resource areas as a starting point to help assist in
your crusade to learn about your child's disability.

We at DisabilityGoTo are here to support you as much as
possible.  If there is something you are looking for and
have not found it, email us and inquiry.  We also provide "In
Home Analysis" services and "Individualized Training", if
you find your needs are moving in that direction.
